Nikki Kaelber honored as a 40 under 40

Laura’s Family Restaurant owner Nikki Kaelber has been honored by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce as a recipient of the 40 under 40 award for 2020.

Owner of Laura’s Family Restaurant for one year, since opening February 20, 2019, Nikki is a driven entrepreneur. She passionately engages in running her restaurant by welcoming in customers as if they were guests in her own home. Nikki is a strong proponent of supporting her fellow young local entrepreneurs. She actively seeks out any way to buy local subsequently building up other small businesses in the area.

Laura’s Family Restaurant won second place at Hudson Valley Wingfest last month, and their food, such as their fried chicken, has been nominated for culinary recognition. Nikki holds a degree as a Paralegal, and worked simultaneously in the field of law and the restaurant industry for many years. In 2018 she decided to give up her work in law to pursue opening a restaurant honoring her late mother, Laura Kaelber. Nikki is now happier than ever doing what she truly loves. She is thrilled to be supporting her community, and to see guests dining in the beautiful, homey space she has created, enjoying comfort food made with love.
